Minor in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Business Applications
In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative force, revolutionizing industries and redefining traditional business practices. The AI for Business Applications minor provides students with a competitive advantage by integrating cutting-edge AI knowledge into their academic curriculum, preparing them for a future in which AI proficiency is crucial for their careers. This minor covers critical topics, including prompt engineering, large language models, machine learning, and business intelligence. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to explore professional AI-powered tools for content generation, application development, process and workflow enhancement, and various industry-specific applications.
Admission Requirements
This minor is open to students from any major. Students planning to take DS 612 (one elective option) should complete DS 212 (or an equivalent course) with a grade of C- or better.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Students will be able to articulate key AI concepts in business and effectively apply them to enhance business applications and processes, enabling data-driven decision-making.
- Students will demonstrate skills in designing and developing AI applications and innovative solutions, and presenting them to stakeholders, while exhibiting teamwork and effective leadership.
- Students will critically assess AI’s impact on businesses and organizations, ensuring responsible AI governance, transparent data practices, and unbiased decision-making.
Minor in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Business Applications – 12 units minimum
- All coursework used to satisfy the requirements of the minor must be completed with a minimum grade point average of 2.0.
- All courses must be taken for a letter grade.
