Japanese Minor — 24 units
- Upper-division courses in Japanese are generally conducted in Japanese, and students are expected to use Japanese in their speaking, reading, and writing.
- A minimum of 6 upper-division units are required to complete the minor.
- All coursework used to satisfy the requirements of the minor must be completed with a minimum grade point average of 2.0.
- At least 12 units in the minor must be taken at SF State.
- If course waivers are given for AP credit, advanced proficiency in the Japanese language, challenge by examination, or transfer credit from other institutions, additional upper-division JAPN courses may be needed to meet the 12 unit residence requirement.
